How to Refile with a Due Date Override
Sometimes a jurisdiction grants an extension or you need to correct a due date. Equipath supports manual due date overrides when filing.
Steps
- Open the Filing you want to update from the Compliance tab.
- Click Edit Filing (pencil icon).
- In the filing dialog, scroll to the Next Due Date section.
- Select Manual for the due date method.
- Enter the correct due date.
- Provide a reason for the override (required for audit trail).
- Click Save.
When to Use This
- Your jurisdiction granted a filing extension.
- The calculated due date is incorrect due to a holiday or rule change.
- You are entering a historical filing with a non-standard due date.
Impact on Future Filings
When you use a manual due date, the next filing period will be calculated from this overridden date rather than the standard schedule. The reason you provide is stored for audit purposes.
Warning: Only use due date overrides when you have documentation to support the change. Unexplained overrides may create compliance gaps.
