Adding a New Jurisdiction

In Equipath, each jurisdiction where an entity is registered is represented as a separate Registration record.

Steps to Add a Jurisdiction

  1. Navigate to the entity's Registrations tab.
  2. Click Add Registration.
  3. Select the jurisdiction (state, country, or local).
  4. Fill in the registration details:
    • Date registered
    • Registered agent (if applicable)
    • Registration type (Foreign Qualification, Domestic, etc.)
  5. Add filing rules for any recurring compliance requirements.
  6. Click Save.

Multiple Registrations per Jurisdiction

An entity can have multiple registrations in the same jurisdiction — for example, a domestic LLC registration and a separate annual report filing. Use descriptive names to distinguish them.

Jurisdiction Types

  • State — U.S. state jurisdictions.
  • Federal — Federal-level filings (e.g., IRS, SEC).
  • Local — City or county registrations.
  • International — Foreign country jurisdictions.

Tip: After adding a jurisdiction, review the filing rules to ensure all compliance requirements are captured.
