I was invited to view shared entities but can't find them
Pending Share Message
When you accept a sharing invitation and create your account you should see a share pending message on your Portfolio page rather than seeing the entities right away.
This is normal. Equipath uses a zero-knowledge security model, which means even our own servers can't see your entity data. As part of this, the person who shared with you needs to log in one more time after you create your account to finalize the share. Reach out and ask them to log in if needed. Once they do, the entities will appear in your portfolio.
Troubleshooting - No Pending Share
If you don't see the pending share message, one of the following may have happened:
- The invitation was sent to a different email address than the one you signed up with
- The person who shared with you may have canceled the share
Wrong Email
Check which email address the invitation was sent to — open the invitation email and check the To field. If it was sent to a different email address than the one you used to sign up:
- Log into your account as normal
- Go to your account settings and navigate to the Profile section
- Add the email address the invitation was sent to as an alias
- Verify the alias using the link sent to that email address
- Log out and log back in using the email address the invitation was sent to — use the same password as your main account.
At this point you should see the pending share message on your portfolio page. Once the person who shared with you logs into their account, the shared entities will appear in your portfolio automatically.
Cancelled Share
If you still don't see the notification, check with the person who shared with you to confirm the share is still active.
